What is autism?

Autism is a neurological disorder that affects the development of a person's social and communication skills.This diagnosis indicates a developmental disorder characterized by impaired communication and verbal behaviors and the presence of abnormal patterns. There are different signs and symptoms in different people and the term autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are used. Therefore, instead of using autism diagnostic label for this type of disorder, the term autism spectrum disorder is used. This classification causes autism to fall out of the category of learning disabilities and to be considered as a different disorder. Because before that, people with autism were not considered as people who could have normal intelligence function. Today, it is easy for us to believe that people with autism can be people with average intelligence or even higher than usual.
